Code of Conduct

Respect & Collaboration

PARTNER IN CRIME operates within a diverse, international environment shaped by a broad range of cultural and social perspectives. Our work is driven by curiosity, empathy, and vision. We act constructively and communicate clearly with the goal of inspiring and empowering others.

We treat one another with respect, openness, and honesty – regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, origin, dis-ability or any other aspects of identity. We are committed to fostering a work environment where everyone feels safe, heard, and valued. Discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Artist Representation

As an agency, we are committed to representing our artists’ interests with integrity and dedication. Our responsibility is to support their artistic vision and professional development, and to advocate for them in all collaborations, negotiations, and communications. We work closely with each artist to understand their needs and long-term aspirations, ensuring that their work is presented and supported in a way that reflects their intentions. Their success and development shape our own. For this reason, we strive to build trusting, long-term relationships that enable artists to evolve, thrive, and pursue their creative practice.

Work Culture

We promote a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being. Our daily interactions are grounded in trust, positive communication, and mutual support. We encourage each other’s personal and professional development.

Feedback is an essential part of our culture – open, constructive, and solution-oriented. Appreciation, respectful criticism, and reflective dialogue are important to us. In cases of misunderstandings or misconduct, we seek direct and clarifying conversations.

Diversity

As an internationally active agency for contemporary performing arts, diversity is a core principle of our work. Diversity shapes our organizational and social practice. Our projects are created through collaboration with people from a wide range of cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds. We recognize that creativity and meaningful change arise when differences are acknowledged, valued, and allowed to shape our work.

We are committed to designing projects and events that are genuinely accessible and inclusive. This includes proactively identifying and reducing physical, communicative, and social barriers, ensuring accessible venues and clear information, and considering diverse needs from the earliest stages of planning. We communicate transparently about existing limitations, and continuously seek feedback from artists, audiences, and collaborators to improve accessibility and create equitable experiences for all.

Sustainability & Responsibility

We strive to act sustainably in our daily work and collaborate with partners who share similar environmental values. Our guiding principle for climate action is to avoid and reduce emissions wherever possible before considering offsetting. To uphold this commitment, we regularly review and evaluate the environmental impact of our internal workflows, production decisions, and touring practices.

We recognize that international touring inevitably generates carbon emissions, particularly through air travel and the transportation of sets, equipment, and materials. When emissions cannot be avoided, we compensate for them by supporting certified climate protection projects that not only reduce or remove CO₂ but also create positive social, cultural, and ecological benefits in the regions where they are implemented. Our aim is to contribute to a more responsible and future-oriented cultural sector.

Creativity & Data Protection

Creativity is grounded in a responsible use of intellectual property. We respect protected works – both our own and those of others. Plagiarism, unauthorized use of third-party content, or intentional misrepresentation are prohibited.

All internal information, client data, and project materials are treated as confidential. Projects or creative content may only be shared publicly with proper approval.

Communication & Public Image

We represent PARTNER IN CRIME professionally, authentically, and respectfully – in client relations, partnerships, public communications, and across social media. We avoid misinformation, defamatory statements, or unprofessional criticism.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

This Code of Conduct provides guidance and establishes binding standards. In cases of non-compliance, we rely on dialogue, reflection, and, where necessary, further action.

These measures may include personal conversations, mediation, or other appropriate steps. In situations involving severe or repeated violations, we reserve the right to end collaborations with partners who do not uphold our values.

Final Statement

Our aim is to foster a creative, respectful, and inspiring environment. We therefore expect all partners involved in our work to respect and uphold the values expressed in this Code of Conduct.

This is a living document. It is reviewed regularly and updated when necessary. It applies to all employees, freelancers, partners, and clients engaged in our work.
